Gary Lee Weinrib OC (b. July 29, 1953, in Toronto, Ontario), best called Geddy Lee, occurs as Canadian musician who is the vocalist, bassist, and keyboardist for the progressive rock group Rush.
Weinrib grew higher when a boy of Polish parents who were two survivors of Nazi concentration camps, Dachau and Bergen-Belsen. Lee's stage name (and down the road legal title) "Geddy" was inspired per heavy-accented pronunciation of his given given name "Gary" by his grandma.

An award-winning musician, Lee's style & system on the bass guitar have proven very influential in the rock & heavy metal genres, inspiring (by their own accounts) such players when Steve Harris of Iron Maiden, John Myung of Dream Theater, Les Claypool of Primus, Cliff Burton of Metallica, and innumerous others. Lee's vocal style, patch less influential, is yet distinctive; a single Rolling Stone critic (perhaps dearly) labelled it the cross between Robert Plant and Daffy Duck.
Lee's 1st solo effort, My Favorite Headache, was released around 2000. Additionally to his composing, arranging, & performing duties for Rush, Lee has produced albums for various more elastic, including Rocket Science, and recorded the short rendition of "O Canada" with Lifeson included on the South Park soundtrack. Geddy Lee is as well heard singing a small fry hit "Take Off" on the McKenzie Brothers (Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas) 1981 comedy album The Low White N: Bob & Doug McKenzie.
Geddy is as well the devoted baseball fan who performed "O Canada" at a 1993 Major League Baseball All-Star Game, and took batting practice sustaining a so-California Angels (circa 1992).
Along by owning his colleagues Alex Lifeson and Neil Peart, Lee was made an Officer of the Order of Canada on May 9, 1996. A trio were a number 1 rock musicians and then honored.
